The American Giant, United Airlines would hire up to 10,000 pilots by 2030 to support the large expansion of its fleet.
In total with 10,000 pilots, United airlines would hire close to 25,000 employees to meet the workforce requirement for its expanding network.
“This is exactly what we planned for when we reached our industry-leading pandemic recovery agreement last year and kept United pilots on the property, trained and ready to take advantage of the rapid recovery in passenger demand. With the strength of our network, fleet, and pilot compensation, we are sure United will remain the destination of choice for the most highly qualified airline pilots.” - Captain Todd Insler, United ALPA Chair
United this week placed an order for 200 Boeing 737 MAX and 70 Airbus A320Neo’s airplanes which would begin to join its fleet in 2022.
Multiple carriers from America canceled hundreds of flights in recent weeks due to a shortage of staff. Many airlines have commenced large-scale employee hiring.
