Hongkong bans flights from India, Pakistan, and the Philippines

Hongkong has banned flights from India, Pakistan, and the Philippines for two weeks designating as “extremely high risk” following the rise of COVID-19 cases.



Hongkong has strict rules in place and has already given two-week ban to many airlines over the last months for breach of COVID19 rules and restricted flights from several countries.

For airlines under the COVID-19 prevention measures, the government has the authority to restrict flights if:


  • A passenger onboard an aircraft carrying COVID-19 fails to comply with pandemic control measures.

  • When an airline carries more than five COVID-19-positive passengers.


Singapore Airlines was issued two ween ban until April 16th while Emirates, British Airways, Air India, and KLM were issued temporary bans earlier due to the breach of these rules.
