Etihad Airways To Bring Back The Airbus A380

Etihad grounded all ten of its double-decker Airbus A380s in 2020 following the  COVID-19 pandemic.



Now after weeks of speculation, the carrier finally announced that the A380 will return to operation in 2023.


Etihad Airways will operate flights between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow in the summer of 2023. (LHR) using 4 A380s.


“We have decided the time is right to return some of our A380s into the fleet to satisfy the demand, which has made them financially viable once more,” Antonoaldo Neves, CEO

Five Airbus A320 narrow-body jets will also be added back into service to support the A380 by operating regional flights from Abu Dhabi.


The Etihad A380 Feature 415 economy seats, 70 business class flat beds, 9 first-class closed suites and 1 Residence suite.
