Ameriflight SA-227 Makes Emergency Landing On A Golf Course

An Ameriflight SA-227 performing flight from New Orleans to Waukesha, USA landed on a gulf course 2.7 miles short of the runway.



The Ameriflight Swearingen SA-227 Expediter registration N247DH with 3 crew and 53 dogs, was on an ILS approach to Waukesha's runway 10.


The aircraft then touched down at the Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee about 2.75nm short of the threshold of Waukesha's runway 10.



The aircraft received substantial damage while three passengers received injuries. The dogs onboard were assessed by vets who said there was no life-threatening injuries to any one of the dogs.


There was a fuel spill of about 300 gallons of fuel following the landing and an investigation has been launched.
