IndiGo, India’s largest airline in terms of both passengers carried and fleet size, boasts a fleet of over 308 aircraft and has an additional 499 on order.
A recent report by The Directorate General of Civil Aviation of India (DGCA) revealed that IndiGo now holds a market share of 61.4% in India, far outpacing its closest competitor, Air India, which holds just 9.4% of the market.
Other airlines in the Indian market include Vistara, with a 9% market share, AirAsia India with 7.9%, SpiceJet with 5.4%, Akasa Air with 4.8%, and Go First with 0.4%.
In recent weeks, both IndiGo and Air India have experienced significant growth due to the absence of GoFirst. The two airlines have increased flights to destinations previously operated by GoFirst.
