Scoot is set to become the first carrier from Singapore to operate the new generational regional jet from Embraer.
Scoot Airlines is a low-cost airline based in Singapore founded in 2012 and is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.
Scoot has signed a lease agreement with Embraer for June E190-E2 jets. The Embraers will join the Scoot fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
"As the first Singaporean carrier to operate the E2s, we are excited to be working with our partners at Embraer to improve our network connectivity and increase travel options for our customers." Mr. Leslie Thng, CEO, Scoot.
The Embraer E190-E2 is part of the E-Jet E2 series which is an upgraded version of the Embraer E190 with improved aerodynamics, fuel efficiency, and reduced noise and emissions. Embraer will begin deliveries for the nine aircraft in 2024.
