Passengers aboard Delta Air Lines flight 1213 were forced to evacuate the Airbus A330 at Orlando International Airport after flames were observed coming from the aircraft’s engine during startup. The flight was scheduled to depart for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Emergency slides were deployed, allowing all 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and two pilots to exit the aircraft safely. No injuries were reported.
A Delta Air Lines spokesperson stated, "Out of an abundance of caution, the flight crew of Delta flight 1213 initiated an evacuation after observing flames from the aircraft’s engine during startup. All customers and crew were safely evacuated, and we thank them for their cooperation."
Airport emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation. Videos shared online captured flames and smoke emerging from the tailpipe of one of the aircraft’s engines.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, while Delta's maintenance teams are conducting inspections to determine what went wrong.
As a precaution, Delta Air Lines arranged an alternative aircraft to transport passengers to their final destinations. The airline has reiterated its commitment to safety and operational reliability as further investigations unfold.
