Siemens CEO and Family Perish in Hudson River Helicopter Crash

In a heartbreaking incident today, a sightseeing helicopter crashed into the Hudson River near Lower Manhattan, resulting in the tragic loss of six lives. Among the victims were a family of five from Spain; Agustin Escobar, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, and their three young children, aged 4, 5, and 11 alongside the 36-year-old pilot.

The helicopter, a Bell 206 operated by New York Helicopter Tours, was on a routine tour when it encountered catastrophic failure. Witnesses described the aircraft spiraling out of control before plunging into the river. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, all six individuals were pronounced dead.


The skies over Manhattan are often bustling with helicopters offering breathtaking views of the city. The loss of six lives, including three young children, is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of ensuring safety in every journey.
