Emirates to Operate Retrofitted Boeing 777 to the Maldives

Emirates will introduce Boeing 777s with upgraded cabins to eight more destinations including Maldives on its route network, as the airline’s retrofit program continues to progress at an impressive pace, with an aircraft receiving its nose-to-tail facelift and rolling out into service every three weeks.Â

Starting June 1, 2025, flights EK 658/659 will be the first Maldives-bound services to feature the upgraded Boeing 777 cabins, followed by EK 656/657 and EK 660/661 on July 15, 2025. The refurbished aircraft includes Emirates' signature Premium Economy, along with a modernized Business Class in a 1-2-1 seating arrangement, ensuring privacy and easy aisle access.
Each retrofitted Boeing 777 will feature 24 Premium Economy seats alongside 260 Economy Class seats, designed to offer superior comfort. Emirates' retrofit program is progressing at an impressive pace, with a newly refurbished aircraft rolling out into service every three weeks.
The airline aims to operate upgraded aircraft on 44 destinations by September 2025, including routes to Lisbon, Dublin, Hong Kong, and major South African cities.
Emirates has committed a $5 billion investment to modernizing its fleet, covering more than 220 aircraft, including both Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s. This effort represents one of the aviation industry's largest retrofit projects, reinforcing Emirates' dedication to delivering world-class air travel experiences.
