Brussels Airlines has proudly introduced its newest addition to the celebrated 'Belgian Icon' series: the ‘Atomium' livery’. This striking design pays homage to one of Belgium's most iconic landmarks, the Atomium, a symbol of innovation and creativity.

The new livery, featured on an Airbus A320 (OO-SNM), was designed by Belgian architect Thomas Faes. It captures the essence of the Atomium's architectural brilliance and its historical significance. The unveiling took place at a special event in Brussels Airlines' Maintenance & Engineering hangar, where media, employees, and invited guests gathered to witness the grand reveal.

The 'Atomium' livery is the result of a nationwide design contest launched in August 2024, inviting Belgians to submit creative concepts that reflect the spirit of the country. Out of over 900 entries, Thomas Faes' design was selected by a distinguished jury for its timeless tribute to Belgium's cultural heritage. The painting process required over 400 liters of paint and approximately 2,400 hours of craftsmanship, led by renowned airbrush artist André Eisele.

Inside the aircraft, passengers will find an immersive experience celebrating the Atomium's history, with visuals and narratives that highlight its construction and legacy. The 'Atomium' joins a prestigious lineup of Belgian Icons, including liveries inspired by Tintin, Tomorrowland, and other cultural treasures.

The aircraft is set to embark on its first flight to Prague, showcasing Belgium's creativity and pride to the world.
