A Delta Air Lines flight made an emergency landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after the crew reported possible smoke in the flight deck. The incident involved Delta Flight 876, which was en route from Atlanta to Columbia, South Carolina.

The Boeing 717 aircraft, carrying 94 passengers, two pilots, and three flight attendants, took off from Atlanta at approximately 8:30 a.m. local time. Shortly after takeoff, the crew observed a haze inside the flight deck and declared an emergency.
The plane landed safely back in Atlanta around 9:00 a.m., and emergency slides were deployed to evacuate the passengers and crew. Atlanta Fire Rescue assisted in the deplaning process, ensuring that everyone on board was safely transported to the terminal.
In a statement, the Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) confirmed that it is investigating the incident. The agency noted that this is the second smoke-related issue involving a Delta flight within a week. Just two days prior, another Delta flight returned to Los Angeles International Airport after smoke was detected in the galley.
