Maldivian has announced a request for an operating lease for the wide-body aircraft, marking another milestone in its long-haul expansion strategy.
This move comes shortly after Maldivian introduced its first Airbus A330-200, a significant step in the airline’s fleet expansion efforts. With the addition of a second A330-200, Maldivian aims to enhance its capacity on existing routes and potentially introduce new long-haul destinations.
The airline presently operates the Airbus A330 to Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai, China. Furthermore, the carrier is also seeking General Sales Agents (GSAs) in Thailand and Malaysia.
