Max Air Boeing 737 Suffers Nose Landing Gear Failure on Landing in Kano

A Max Air Boeing 737-4D7, registered as 5N-MBD, sustained nose landing gear damage while landing at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (KAN) on Tuesday night at approximately 10:57 PM.

Flight VM1605, which had departed from Lagos (LOS), came to a stop on the runway after its nose landing gear tire burst upon touchdown, resulting in a small fire. Emergency responders quickly arrived to manage the situation, ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew, who were able to deplane without injuries.


Following the incident, the aircraft was towed from the runway, allowing airport operations to resume as authorities initiated an investigation into the cause of the failure.
