Maafaru International Airport has officially reopened for international operations. This strategic move aims to bolster the region’s connectivity and cater to the growing demand for luxury travel.
Located in the Noonu Atoll, Maafaru International Airport was initially inaugurated on December 1, 2019. Funded by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the project received a grant of $60 million
The airport was recently closed to facilitate significant upgrades, including the extension of the runway and the addition of more apron space. These enhancements are designed to accommodate larger aircraft and increase the airport’s capacity, ensuring it can meet the growing demand for international travel.
