On September 18, 2024, a tragic accident occurred involving a FlyBy Aviation Academy Tecnam P2008JC MkII aircraft, registered as EC-OJB.
The aircraft crashed into open terrain approximately 600 meters north of Abia de las Torres, Palencia, in the Castilië en León region of Spain. The aircraft was on a routine training flight, having departed from and intended to return to Burgos Airport (RGS/LEBG).
Onboard were a student pilot and an instructor. Unfortunately, the aircraft went down nose-first, resulting in the death of the student pilot and serious injuries to the instructor.
