Rivals British Airways And Virgin Atlantic Performs Dual Departure To Celebrate US Reopening


Rivals British Airways and Virgin Atlantic performed a parallel runway departure together to celebrate the reopening of the United States to European travelers.


For more than a year, travelers from Europe and the UK were not allowed entry to the United States however with the new changes, fully vaccinated travelers will be allowed entry.


British Airways and Virgin Atlantic operated the special double departure from London Heathrow Airport using Airbus A350-1000.


British Airways chief executive Sean Doyle said transatlantic connectivity is vital for the UK’s economic recovery.


Prior to the pandemic, over 22 million passengers traveled from the UK and the US and it is one of the most profitable routes.
